Time flies when you're not blogging! I thought for PC sake that I should get something on here. Maybe to keep myself from losing sleep? Probably not. My cat takes care of that for me.
Anyway, another day, another month and more time lapsed. No news at this point in time. We started using the ovulation kit this month...only to realize AFTER the fact that my hormone spike was detected. Just not in the allotted 5-8 minutes that they tell you the strip is good for! After doing some research online I discovered that there are many women who keep their pee sticks (I know, right?), write on them the date and time that they took them, and take photos for comparison. Hmm...how does this work when your results are not guaranteed after 8 minutes? Looking back on it, Justin had looked at a couple of them and stated, "These look exactly the same...how are we supposed to know?" Damn me for not doing research ahead of time. I would have know that they looked the same because I was spiking. Hindsight is 20/20, damnit.
Okay, you're right, I followed suit. I went back into the trash and pulled mine out...for comparison sake, alright?! ;) Sure enough...it was plain as day which strips had plainly detected the hormone spike and which hadn't. Apparently the sad, gross and horribly obsessive nature that is peeing-on-a-stick (with a whole website dedicated to it, mind you) has trapped me in its clutches as well. I will be saving mine from now on (and possibly writing dates and times?). How else can I tell if they aren't evident until AFTER the 8 minutes?! AND what they don't tell you in the directions is that it is best to test in the afternoon. Hello?! Would have been nice to know! I was testing first thing in the morning as a good pregnancy test taker would. Apparently your Lh hormone doesn't build up until after you wake up. Who knew?!
Something tells me in the err of our ways we weren't so lucky this time around. If this had taught me anything, it's patience. Not on my time, but His!
Wow, who knew peeing on stick was so dang complicated?? At lest now you seem to have it down . . . I read your blog twice and I'm still confused . . . ;)
